Despite the best efforts of South West Trains to restrict as many people as possible from actually making it to Twickenham before dusk, most of us overcame their incompetence and made it in time for kick off...... that is apart from the thousands waiting at Clapham Junction who tried in vain to board already overcrowded trains. Most of them are probably still waiting on the platform.
An average game didn't subdue the buoyant spirits of an upbeat crowd though, most of whom, (that would be the English), had a stunning day out. Referee Romain Poite meanwhile, spent the first half stunning the crowd and players alike with some of his decisions until a favourable act of God saw him leaving the field injured.
As Toby Flood said after the game, "well, he wasn't doing us any favours. When he left the field, it's the first time Jonno has smiled since he took over."
